What are the basic certification requirements?
The associations and their certification requirements
Regardless of certification track, the three certifying associations (MMCTFOA, IIMC, and APT) share three basic requirements:
-
You must be a member of the association for at least two years before applying for certification.
-
You must earn the required number of education points.
-
You must earn the required number of experience points.
The specific number of points varies by association:

-
50 experience points (100 hours) from relevant work experience, past education, conference attendance, and service work
IIMC

APT

A total of 100 points, combining education and experience, with either:
-
60 education points and 40 experience points, or
-
40 education points and 60 experience points
-
In addition, all three associations require that applicants:
-
Currently hold a position with duties relevant to the certification track, and
